PRINCIPALS

ANDREA FISK, AIA, CPHD

Andrea has always been fascinated by the stories of everyday things and loves the architectural history of New York City, especially as it’s manifested in the “dressings” of fine houses: mouldings, woodwork, and door hardware. Her recent work has sought to combine this stylistic history with contemporary sensibilities in a way that feels genuine and liveable. She is a registered architect in the state of New York, as well as a Certified Passive House Designer.

Andrea earned her Master of Architecture from Washington University in St Louis, and an interdisciplinary Bachelor of Humanities and Arts degree in Creative Writing, Architecture and Photography from Carnegie Mellon University.

JESS THOMAS HINSHAW, AIA

Originally from Florida, Jess Thomas Hinshaw now resides in Brooklyn, NY. She is a registered architect in the state of New York. She received a Master of Architecture from Columbia’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation, and Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College, majoring in Studio Art and Art History.

Her past as an art history and studio art major translates into a profound appreciation of materials and details. She has a particular love for tiles, lighting, and integrated pulls. Prior to founding Shapeless Studio, Jess worked for a number of years as a project manager for a design/build firm in Brooklyn.
