AHLEM EYEWEAR

228 ELIZABETH STREET, NY NY

We designed the Ahlem Eyewear store to be unique and beautiful, taking inspiration from Ahlem’s carefully crafted eyewear. We created soft, clean ribbon walls that are lifted off the floor and surround the shop, unifying and organizing the space. The finish is a fine white plaster, which adds a quiet richness.

Shapeless designed the custom furniture in the space working closely with Ahlem’s team. To get the shapes of the legs just right— playful but not goofy— we drew them by hand, scanned them, and traced them digitally. The aluminum table legs help keep the furniture visually light.

The Noguchi-inspired sculptural walnut doors at the back of the store were sketched by Ahlem herself on an airplane napkin. These doors were carved by hand to ensure they had the right natural, handmade quality.
