— Specializing in residential architecture in Brooklyn and Manhattan
Shapeless Studio is an Architecture and Design firm that specializes in residential townhouses and apartments in Brooklyn and Manhattan. The firm seeks to work without boundaries, but always within a context. The studio wishes to continually explore alternative solutions, to question the prescribed standards, to create projects that are specific and special to each client. Shapeless Studio seeks to foster relationships across design industries, in the hopes of creating Architecture which is all-encompassing and yet diverse.
— Andrea Fisk, Principal
Andrea earned her Master of Architecture from Washington University in St Louis, and an interdisciplinary Bachelor of Humanities and Arts degree in Architecture, Creative Writing and Photography from Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh. Prior to founding Shapeless Studio, she was a project manager at MADE Architecture, a design/build firm in Brooklyn, NY. She has always been fascinated by the stories of everyday things and loves the architectural history of New York City, especially as it’s manifested in the “dressings” of fine houses: mouldings, woodwork, and door hardware. Her recent work has sought to combine this stylistic history with contemporary sensibilities in a way that feels genuine and liveable.
— Jess Thomas Hinshaw, Principal

Her past as an Art History and Studio Art major translates into a profound appreciation of materials and details. She has a particular love for obscure tiles, lighting, and integrated pulls. Prior to founding Shapeless Studio, Jess worked as a project manager for MADE Architecture, a design/build firm in Brooklyn, NY. At MADE, Jess completed a townhouse renovation in the West Village, a loft in Greenwich Village, a Nail Salon in Brooklyn, and numerous other projects.
